Despite its relatively young age, Ketiara quickly has established itself as one of the most-respected Fair-Trade cooperatives in the Gayo Highlands of Sumatra, producing excellent quality coffees, efficient contract performance, and focus on innovation and continuous improvement. The success of this Ketiara cooperative is attributed to the group’s leader, Rahmah, a tenacious and visionary woman. In contrast to the classic Sumatra profile dominated by notes of earth, cedar, and bell pepper, Ketiara’s coffees often feature fruit tones ranging from cherry and grape to citrus and pineapple, combined with lively acidity and creamy body.
Recommendation: We recommend ordering whole bean coffee for maximum freshness and flavor. Ground coffee starts to oxidize and age, resulting in a flat flavor. Customer satisfaction is not guaranteed for ground coffee.
Best there is! Just got my 5lb bag and will certainly be ordering another.
Rich and flavorful. Hints of chocolate.
Love supporting local businesses!
Delicious as always!!!
WOW AMAZING COFFEE, THIS WAS OUR 2ND ORDER FOR THE Sumatra COFFEE BEAN AND THE PRICE WAS A BIG HELP TO A RETIRED DISABLED VERTERAN.
THANK YOU FOR A GREAT PRODUCT AND SERVICE
Literally one of the best beans I've ever had. Rich, chocolatey goodness!
All of the coffees I have tried at Ubora are extremely good but Sumatra is my favorite. The flavor is robust and strong. I make either a Cappuccino or a Latte every morning and this coffee, to me, is the perfect compliment. The flavor is not diminished one bit by the frothed milk or chocolate that is sprinkled on the top. Absolute heaven.
Another fantastic bean. Just had my first cup of Sumatra Queen Ketiara!
Words do not describe how satisfying this coffee is. Rich wonderful espresso......
Gotta try this, life isn't complete without it.
Thank you Tony!
Our favorite go-to morning cappuccino bean!! The richness wakes us and begins our day with a little smile everyday :)
Wonderful coffee as I like my coffee rich and bold and great tasting!!!
Some call me a coffee snob, to which I reply that I just know what I like and if what you got isn't it, I'll let you know. This Sumatra roast from Ubora is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES. Its dark and rich with a creamy texture on your palette and the subtle notes of tobacco leaves that you would think would be astringent, but add the perfect balance on your nose as you enjoy each sip. My favorite way prepare this roast is in a French Press since the oils play such a big role with bean. Sadly I had to move away from Augusta and can't stop in anymore, but now I order this roast by the 5 lb bag!
great coffee, wonderful flavor will keep buying the Sumatra
and thank you for your service protecting our country
I bought this coffee based on description: earth, tobacco and chocolate and assumed it would "french roast like": very dark, earthy dirty and lush...with oily black beans. Instead, what I got, were brown, dry beans appearing like cheap grade bulk beans in the grocery store. I like straight, dark, smooth, lush rich coffee with very little overtone. This was not that. This was coffee with a nutty, woody overtone that I did not like.
Can you recommend something in your line up closer to smooth lush French Roast?
Can’t live without it
Sometimes I can't help but look around and appreciate everything that I have to be thankful for. Kids running through the house and playing, my beautiful girlfriend painting in the room, and me sitting on the toilet while enjoying a nice cup of Ubora coffee. Life is good fellas.. life is good
