It’s thought that coffee was first brought to Colombia as early as 1723 by Jesuit priests. Because the climate, elevation, soil, and rainfall of the central mountain region are near perfect for growing coffee, Colombia has grown to become the third largest exporter of coffee in the world and coffee has shaped the development of the Colombian economy as perhaps no other single industry: providing the impetus for a rail system, generating and expanding internal markets, and providing an influx of foreign currency.
The FNC (National Federation of Coffee Growers), an industry association which represents the nation’s mostly small-scale coffee producers, was created in 1927 to defend the interests of coffee growers. In addition to providing technical assistance and a guaranteed buyer for all the coffee produced, perhaps the most famous contribution of the FNC has been the famous “Juan Valdez” ad campaign.
Because of its geography and micro-climates, Colombia can produce a wide range of flavor profiles and has regions in production year-round. Always fresh, always a great choice.
Recommendation: We recommend ordering whole bean coffee for maximum freshness and flavor. Ground coffee starts to oxidize and age, resulting in a flat flavor. Customer satisfaction is not guaranteed for ground coffee.
The only decaf coffee that I’ve found that tastes good.
Best decaf coffee I’ve ever had.
There's nothing more enjoyable than breakfast with eggs, toast and a cup of decaf Colombia La Encantadora and then sipping the remainder of the coffee while watching the morning news.
My wife is pregnant and wanted a decaf coffee. I was already ordering from Ubora so I took a chance and got some of their decaf variety. I'm glad I did! It's one of the best decaf coffees I've had in a long time!
Great beans for a nightly espresso after dinner.
Excellent coffee! Smooth, full-bodied, well balanced flavor. Richly aromatic and so satisfying. But, you will crave that second cup! And--- this is decaf!!
I love many of the different Ubora roasts...however the Columbian decaf is the one we use the most. It is the only decaf I have ever had that tastes like REAL coffee...btw the Columbian Decaf is excellent for blending with other roasts...if you need to reduce your caffeine intake or simply would like to enjoy more cups of coffee during the day without getting over caffeinated, this is your best bet. We love it and blend it with Ethiopian or Brazilian every morning. Thank you Ubora
